Reasons Why Everyone Loves a Syquefine Pup

Here we are after a full year and first year with Miss Anna-Mae. Where to begin. She still continues to come to work with me, and loves going. Still pulls me when we get close and is always welcomed with open arms by everyone at work. She is known as our "morning greeter" she always makes sure she greets every single person I work with who she passes on our way to the back of the clinic to the grooming area. We have a wall of kennels for the vet clients and in the back for groom clients and she ALWAYS stops to check each kennel and sniffs and licks the dogs that are in there, even if they are recovering from surgery. She's got some best friends at work, a pug, lab and shepherd mix who she plays with once or twice a week during lunch. It took her a while to figure out how to play with small dogs, she usually lays down and then plays with them with her front legs, before she would try and wrestle them like she would with a big dog. Anna-mae is a great guard dog while im at work. If im working with an agressive dog and the dog growls or shows teeth, annamae will get up from sleeping to bark and growl back at them through her kennel, or she will just stand there watching to make sure im okay. She is very famously known in our neighbourhood as she currently has pink poms, tail and her head. Continues to be my best groom client. She jumps on the table and into the tub with ease. At home she is still the biggest suck. Always wants to cuddle, her favourite sleep position is belly up and legs in the air. Anna-mae is always up for some fetch inside. We take her to a dog park once or twice a week near another clinic i work at. She loves watching horror movies with Michael (I can't do horror). And Michael has mentioned how he couldn't imagine his life with just a cat. Anna-mae is doing much better with our Cat Peeka, not that she was ever mean to her, just never understood why Peeka never wanted to play with her. We do think Peeka likes Anna-mae, but in very small doses and when there's our cat baby gate in between, she will meow for annamae to come to her and they sniff each other through the gate, but that's about it. Annamae LOVED the winter and snow. I still don't like the cold, but it is definately more tolerable and enjoyable to be in when having a dog who likes it - frolicking and jumping in and out of snow banks, zoomies, ect. Anna-mae went into heat the day before her birthday - you were on the ball about guessing the timing for it. I've never had a female dog, let alone one going into heat, but I do think we were pretty lucky with it, very little blood, and she only bled for about 2 - 2 ½ weeks. She was definitely a bit uncomfortable and not herself so we avoided grooming until she was back to normal, just brushing 1-2 times a week. We will be getting her spayed in July. We went to the cottage last weekend and she remembered it instantly. Had a blast, big backyard meaning lots of fetch! Michael is hoping she will try swimming again, I'm fine if she decides it's not for her. His parents bought a boat, so I am hopping she will like the boat rides. We start our first round of vacation at the cottage in 5 weeks for 10 days, and then again for another 10 days in August. Anna-mae is a total goofball, can be so sassy, and then straight to being a lovebug. We continued training for a couple months which I thought was great for her and myself. I believe she's full grown in height now. She's still filling out a bit, but when we weighed her last month she was 43lbs. She is 100% the best dog I've ever owned. We love her to pieces, and we know she feels the same Wishing you and your family the best. Rachel

It is hard to believe that it is almost 3 years since I picked up Keira, my apricot female, from Syquefine. Keira is considered “ the perfect dog” by all my friends, and obviously I agree. She is super bright, intuitive, and we have developed an easy and quite sophisticated relationship. She trains super fast and loves to learn. I am amazed by how she reads me, and adapts herself to what is going on. She doesn’t pester. For example, if I practice the piano, she may come part way through my practice just to say “I exist” and to get a little attention, and then she is back to lying under my grand piano for the duration of my practice. She is highly athletic and is the fastest runner in the dog park. She was not a natural swimmer, I had to teach her, but now she loves it. She is the best at the groomers, so they say, and enjoys having her teeth brushed and her hair combed. If I could wish one thing, it would be that she have a little less interest in squirrels LOL. So far Keira has been in perfect health. I have really nothing to complain about with my companion and congratulate Syquefine Standard Poodles for breeding this amazing dog for me. Ron.
